Lego Advent

Once again the kids did their Lego Advent this year along with their Baby Jesus advent.  They really do enjoy it and look forward to it each morning.

Christmas Eve Morning Scavenger Hunt

I chose not to have the kids buy each other presents this year.  I thought they'd either torture each other or tell each other, So I gave them each a present Christmas Eve morning and they had to complete a scavenger hunt (with decoy presents) to find them.

Another decoy!

They finally found them in the wardrobe.

Their swords and sheaths!

Just the right size for Joy!

Christmas Program

The kids played the bells.

And they decorated the tree according to the big kids' readings.

And finally sang, "We Wish You a Merry Christmas."  Joy didn't make it for this part.  She had climbed over the pew and into my lap before the end of the program.  She wasn't about to get back up there, even though they both know and like the song.

Snow!

It all started Friday night.  Shawn got hurt at sparring class.  We left and went to Med Express but they were closed.  We went to the Emergency Room but Shawn couldn't bring himself to go there.  As we were debating in the parking lot, a crazy, crazy snow storm came out of nowhere!  The snow was like dippin' dots.  Shawn drove home and there were times we could hardly see.  When we got home, Uncle Greg had been watching the kids.  They were over the top excited to see that there was snow.  They went right outside in their pajamas and coats and played and played even though it was late.
The next morning, they were up shortly after 7 and ready to go outside.  I was pleased to discover this year they are almost able to dress for the snow by themselves.  And they were able to play outside independently while I drank tea, watched them out the window and tried to wake up.  They were not happy when the snow melted.

Dinosaur Fun

The kids have been spending the month at school learning about dinosaurs.  I really love how they get to learn about the same thing at school and then play it together at home.

EBPC Christmas Party

We had lots of fun at the Church Christmas Party this year.Lots of good food,

and a scavenger hunt for the nativity scene.

I was in charge of the games.  We dressed up boys and girls Christmas trees.

We played a marshmallow relay.

It was awesome to be able to play our parachute - nativity game outside!

Then we told the Christmas story with our nativity pieces.

Another scavenger hunt for the items for the treat bag.
