Visit with Grandma and Pappy

We had a wonderful day with Grandma and Pappy today. Paul had so much fun playing with the "truck" and the "shovel" that was just his size. He talked about "Opie," the kitty, all the way home.

Easter Egg Hunt

This year Paul really had a good time running around finding the eggs at the church Easter Egg Hunt. That is, until he discovered they were filled with chocolate candy. Then he just wanted to stop and try to figure out how to get the wrappers open. Then, after Paul went to bed that night, Mama ate most of the Easter Egg candy!

Visit with the Girls

We had a really wonderful dinner and nice evening with Keli, Gina, Brook and Reese. Paul and Reese took a little time to get to know each other, but then they had a blast. Unfortunately, I failed to get any pictures of them giving each other a hug. But they are still awfully cute.

"Bara Bara"

Paul loves helping Dada with the "bara bara."

Bike

Thus begins the era of chasing Paul down the hill and pushing the bike back up.

Gymnastics Class

Today Paul was very tired in gymnastics class. He wanted to play by himself. He enjoyed playing with the "sticky" rice in Miss Rhonda's pool. He also had fun "push"ing around the little cart.

The Cold Returns

After getting spoiled with the nice weather, we had a few cold days. That didn't stop us from going outside, because we are "tough," as Paul says.

Working on the Shed

Shawn, Farmer George and Paul have been working hard on the shed.

Paul likes to make the sound Farmer George's chainsaw makes in the distance when he is cutting wood.

Visit with Dina and Olivia

We had such a nice visit with Dina and Olivia today on this beautiful spring day. Olivia is 6 months old now. Paul was fascinated with Olivia and wanted to rock her chair and put her pacifier in her mouth. He needed lots of reminders to be gentle. We enjoyed walking and visiting the cows, especially the little calf who was born yesterday.

The Barn

Paul has been having fun in the barn. He likes to shovel the hay and count the wagons.

Helping Dada

Paul has been helping Dada clean out the collapsed shed. He had fun with the hammer and crowbar.

Flowers

Paul enjoys counting the flowers and visiting the bees.

The Creek

Paul has discovered the fun that can be had at the creek. Notice there are not actually any pictures of the creek. That is because when we get close I have to hold on to him for dear life because he wants to jump "in, in, in!!!" It is quite a long walk because there are many distractions along the way. Sometimes he has to lay down and rest on the way home.

My Little Helper

Paul is becoming my little helper inside and out. He has learned to put stuff in piles, we have been piling up sticks outside. He also helped me find rocks and put them down on the black plastic I put down to cover the potential poison ivy.

In this picture, Paul is sitting in the pan that Cana just licked out.

I was a very bad mama today. Paul woke up from his nap and I heard him crying very loudly. Knowing that Shawn was upstairs in the next room on an important call for work, I ran up the stairs and burst into his room with astonishing speed. Unfortunately, Paul was behind the door and he flew through the air. Fortunately, he seems ok.

Ready for Vacation

I got lots of great deals at the Spring Children's Sale at the fairgrounds, including a life jacket for Paul for our vacation. He enjoyed wearing it around.

Gymnastics Class

It's amazing how much Paul has changed in just 3 gymnastics classes. At the first class he clung to me for dear life. Today he was running around with the other kids learning lots of new things. He enjoyed crawling through the tunnel, walking the balance beam with Miss Rhonda's help, and jumping on the trampoline.

Snow Melt

You can see the progression of the snow slowly melting and the mud taking over.

Paul loves to help any way he can, including shoveling snow. He also likes to visit the gate to the pasture and talk about how the gate keeps the cows in. He can even chew his cud!

Today, we saw bees for the first time in the flowers. Paul was not very willing to take turn with the bees when it came to digging in the flowers.

Gymnastics Class

Paul and I started Playful Parenting classes at Gym Dandy's last week. At first he was really shy, but this week he had a lot more fun. They have a baby pool full of something each week (corn meal this week), like a sandbox, and he had a blast. He also had fun rolling down the wedge mat and climbing up and down the slide. Last week he was to scared to stand on the parachute; this week he thought it was cool.

Paul Loves Cleaning

Paul loves brooms and the mop. He says "mop" and "bop" for broom. We have to mop at least every other day because he enjoys it so much. He walks around making the "woosh" sound the steam mop makes.

Paul keeps learning words almost daily. He's up to 28 words now.
