Getting Big

Look how big Joy is getting! Paul is starting to do a little better with her and in general these days. It seemed like so far weeks 2-6 of her life were the most difficult for him. Now he is starting to give up nap time though, so that presents new challenges.

Starting week 6, she has been really fussy, especially at night. At least the techniques in my book are helpful and it is no where near as bad as it was with Paul. She also has a lot of happy times and is just starting to really smile.

Lilly's Birthday Party

Paul also played hard at Lilly's (Lydia's daughter's) birthday party later in the day. I was so glad grandpa could come to help me keep track of two kids. Two birthday parties in one day made us all exhausted!

Tony's Birthday Party

y

We had lots of fun at Tony's (Linnaea's son's) first birthday party. Paul was mesmerized by the clowns! Keli and Clay do a great job watching Paul and Joy when needed. They are going to be great parents!

Mowing Saturday

Shawn and Paul pushmowed for about 3.5 hours on Saturday. Joy slept and I got housework done! Then, when Shawn decided to get on the tractor to finish up, Paul was determined to get the broken Husquavarna going and follow him. Somehow, Shawn even found time to hold Joy.

Thinking Pose

I have many pictures of Paul resting his head on his fist, this is the first one of Joy.

Tiller

After seeing Olivia's daddy's tiller, he had to have one of his own. While they were both napping, I manufactured some tiller blades for his pushmower.

Picnic

We had a picnic yesterday with the Ivanacs, Fina, Keli and Clay. It was wonderful to all get together. Paul had an absolute blast with the Ivanac kids. After they left, he told me, "I had fun with my cousins!" I didn't bother to explain. Joy got lots of love from the Ivanac kids too.

Today was quite challenging in church. While trying to give the children's sermon, I had Paul jumping down the steps, laying down with his feet in the air, repeating everything I said, and yelling about his shoes while I tried to say the Lord's Prayer. All the while Joy cried for great-grandma in the background. What a circus!

Visit with Michelle

I sure was glad Michelle got to stop out and visit with Paul and Joy.

Visit with Farmer George's Grandkids

We were fortunate to get to go play with Farmer George's grandkids today while they were in town. Paul had a great time riding "dirt bikes" and playing baseball.

Working with Farmer George

It drives Paul crazy when he can see Farmer George working across the hill and can't go and help. So he was thrilled to get to take a ride on the tractor this afternoon after Farmer George was done baling.

Hi World!

Dandelion Bouquet

I think God made dandelions just to help mom's feel better during a rough day!

Great-Grandma

Thank goodness for Great-grandma coming to hold Joy during Paul's nap so I can bring this house back to order! (A little bit, at least).

Graduation Parties

We had fun hopping from Shannon Ward's to Emily McCloud's graduation parties with grandma. Paul had a great time playing at the park, especially on the giant John Deere!

Fina came out today to take Joy's newborn pictures. I can't wait to see them!

Bath Time!

It was finally time for Joy's first real bath!

Wild Things

We all had a great time at the Wild Things game. Paul loved playing the baseball games in the kid play area and playing on the playground with the other kids.
