Pine Springs Day 4 (Wednesday)

The kids went on a creek walk in the morning.  Joy was really throwing a fit about separating from me that morning, but they both loved the creek walk.  I think it was one of their favorite things.  I really enjoyed the mom's quiet time each morning.
Then, it was time for our program.  The counselors said something special about each kid and gave them a rock with their special words on it.

 Joy was a super sleeper.

 J.J. getting his rock.
Paul, the Super Springer!  He loved going to set the table with Danny before each meal.

 Grandma and her crew.
 Dancing at the picnic.
Overall the week went very well.  There were a few minor issues, as expected, but the kids really did fantastic, better than I hoped.  I was very proud of them.  I got many compliments on Paul's behavior, which was very nice.

Pine Springs Day 3 (Tuesday)

For our morning mom time, we could choose to do the climbing tower or archery. Since I don't like heights, I chose archery.  I was excited to get to do it.  I had tons of fun shooting the bow and arrow,

 and the BB gun,

And the paintball sling shot.  I was just terrible at all of them, but I loved it.  I asked lots of staff members if there was any chance I could he was get Paul down there, but they were firm on the age limit.

The weather was FREEZING!  Everyone was going about in their long pants and sweatshirts, but it was the kids' only chance to get in the pool.  Olivia and Paul went while Joy and J.J were still sleeping from FOB.  I was glad our counselor went in the pool with them so that I did not have to.
Olivia was very brave on the slide.

Paul thought it was chilly, but did go swimming about with his favorite counselor, Danny.

On the way back to the cabin, Paul and Olivia were shivering so badly they could hardly walk.

Then, we had to get the kids dried off, into dry suits and then clothed on top for the confidence course.  Joy was out cold and it was a great challenge to get her dressed and ready.  She was throwing a huge fit, her worst of the week.  But, she was happy when she finally realized the confidence course was all about climbing!

And finally, the zip
line.  Paul was so, so excited.  I was nervous, because they had to really hold on and Olivia had just fallen off.  But Paul loved it and wanted to do it again.

Then it was time for the bubble slip and slide.  It was still freezing cold, but the kids loved it.

Then it was time to get ready for our western dinner.

S'mores!  Later the mom's got to have s'mores too, and I had Reece's cup s'mores for the first time.  They were awesome!

The kids wrote something they learned about Jesus on a rock and placed it at the bottom of the cross.  This campfire was at TiPi village.
