On Monday, we were hit with a crazy and terrifying storm. The garden was hit so hard. I was so sad. Beside being smashed down and broken, everything looked like it had been sprayed by a shotgun due to the hail.
Not pictured were the butternut squash which were obliterated.
We tried makeshift fences to keep the corn up.
The Pepper of Hope - as we were sadly walking down the hill after checking out the damage, Joy came running down saying, "A pepper, a pepper!" This one little pepper gave us hope that other good things would still come out of the garden.
As sad as I was, I was extremely thankful that we do not live in an age when this would mean starvation for our family. It's just a little disapointment. And some things are proving to be pretty resilient. That story is yet to be told.
