Many things about Joy's party did not go the way I wanted them too. Her Elsa costume arrived in the mail the Monday after the party. That caused lots of distress about what she was going to wear. Also, I was upset because it was our present to her and it hadn't arrived for her birthday. The decorations were a lot more work than I expected. It rained a lot (but some folks did get outside at the end of the party). I burned the pasta! After all my hard work!! I woke up hoarse and could barely talk. The balloons I paid a lot for and got inflated the day before deflated (except the 2 foil ones). Despite all these disappointments, Joy had fun, did not have any major breakdowns, and I think all the kids had fun. I think God is trying to tell me something important in all this, but I haven't gotten the message quite clearly yet.
