This One is for You, Grandma Speer

The other night, we were playing outside, not even talking about Star Wars or anything.  Out of nowhere, Joy walks up to our light pole, points to the think tar on it, and asks, "Is that Jabba slime?"

Our 13th Anniversary

We didn't have a babysitter to go out to dinner for our anniversary, but it really worked out.  We had a fun adventure at Quaker Steak.  We decided to go there because there is a lot of interesting stuff on the walls for the kids to look at.  Paul was just a little scared of the cars and motorcycles hanging from the ceiling crashing down on him.

There was a boxing game on the way out, and we let Paul climb up on a chair and play.

Spring Weed Quiche

We picked wild onion and garlic, yellow rocket, and dandelion greens from our yard for a quiche based on a recipe in our weed field guide.  Paul was very excited to make it and we had lots of fun picking all the weeds.  Paul was much more ambivalent about actually eating the quiche..  He ate almost a whole slice of it, but decided he never needed any more in the future.

Joy even fed him some!  The quiche was ok, but I guess I share Paul's opinion.  It was fun, but I don't need to do it again.
This is funny because Paul always wanted brussel sprouts so badly in the grocery store.  Last week Shawn bought them for him.  I cooked them up with bacon.  Paul took about two bites and decided they looked a lot better than they tasted!

Cana's 7th Birthday Party

Camille watched the kids today and we took a very nice hike.  They decorated the house for Cana's party.  She had a steak and lots of pork fat.  We ate our country ribs from the pig.  They were good.  Too, too good.   I have to learn not to over do it with the pig meat.

I am pleased with how pretty these daffodil pictures came out!

Walking at Grandma Ely's

We had a lovely walk at Grandma Ely's on a really nice day.
