Before kids, Shawn and I used to night hike with the dogs and the headlamps all the time. Since Joy's been big enough to handle a decent hike, we've been saying we want to take the kids on a night hike. In the summer, night time comes a little too late for a hike. This was a Wednesday we were all dressed and went to karate only to see it was a substitute teacher. We turned around and left and weren't quite sure what to do with ourselves. Well, it was a great night for finally taking a night hike. We need to invest in some new head lamps, but it was very fun and the kids want to do it again.
