Halloween/Paul's Birthday

There was no way Shawn and I, with our bum legs, could walk around Uncle Kevin's neighborhood for Trick or Treat.  Paul was very bummed out about this and said it was going to be "the worst Halloween ever."  Then, he decided we should have an egg hunt.  So, I went out that morning and bought him some presents and made a scavenger hunt with clues in the plastic pumpkins.

One in the fridge

What, Joy gets a turn to open one...It's just too much!

Star Wars Legos!!  And Joy got some glitter crayons and glitter markers.

Shawn set the card table up in the dining room so the kids could work with their new stuff.

We sang and Paul blew out a smelly candle and ate some of his candy from school.  Who needs a cake on Halloween?

Paul chose to stay home and work on his Legos with daddy while Joy and I trick or treated.  He finished one of his ships with very little help!

I took this fierce dragon to Judy's and Grace's.
Paul said it was the best Halloween ever and we should do it every year.

Family Time

Zingo for family time this week.  We all enjoyed it.

Sunday School Marshmallow Fight

We were discussing solving problems peacefully (with the example of of the story of Abraham and Lot.)  One of the activities was a marshmallow war.  It was very fun.  It was so good to be able to have class outside.  The kids were distracted, but I didn't care.  It was just nice to be out.

Walk with Joy: The First Time I Made it to the Highway

Joy wanted to take a walk Saturday evening.  I didn't know if I could do it, but I made it all the way to the end of the mowed trail.  Yay!!  Joy liked being the one in the lead for a change.  She made it home way before I did.

Joy wanted to send this picture to Elihu.  She thought he would like it.  Joy loves Elihu.  We get reports most days of whether there has been an Elihu sighting at school.

Slow and steady!

Indoor Garden

While Paul was at Jayda's birthday party Saturday evening, Joy and I dug up the herbs and brought them inside.  She was a very good helper.  Now it smells like thanksgiving at the top of the stairs.

Tiger Joy

Amy and Tyson came over on Saturday.  I did not get any pictures of them for some reason.  While the boys played guns, Joy colored herself like a tiger.  Today is Wednesday and she still has some stripes on her arm.  Fortunately, the Noxema takes it off her face pretty well.
